General Instructions for Local Business Tax Procedures
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
General Instructions:
1. Submission Requirements:
· Ensure the application is complete and all required documents are attached (see requirements below).
· Additional information may be requested during the review process.
2. Operation Disclaimer:
· You cannot begin operating your business until a Business Tax Receipt is issued.
· The Village is not responsible for any improvements made before approval is secured.
· Obtain the necessary permits for any structural changes or repairs.
3. Fees:
· A fee of $175.00 per business location* is required for reviewing and processing new Business Tax Receipt applications.
Required Documents for Business Tax Receipt Application:
Before applying, ensure you have digital copies of the following:
1. Certificate of Use from the Village of Palmetto Bay.
2. Miami-Dade County Business Tax Receipt.
3. Corporate Documents (Article of Incorporation)
4. State License or Certification (if applicable).
5. Employer Identification Number (EIN).

*If more than ONE business or independent contractor resides in the same location, a Business Tax Receipt may be required for each entity. Please contact the Village if you have any questions.
Submission of an application does not imply consent to operate your business therefore, you shall not conduct any business until a Certificate of Use and Local Business Tax Receipt is issued. The Village may not be held responsible for improvements you make at the location prior to all approvals given for the issuance of the Certificate of Use and your Local Business Tax Receipt. Proper permits must be obtained for all alterations, remodeling, change of occupancy and repairs affecting the electrical, plumbing, mechanical or building structure.
